Aaron Christmas
Aaron left for Iraq in February. He is scheduled to be there for about 26 weeks. I know that some of you may have had to deal with a loved one being away, fighting for our country. It is so comforting to them to receive things from home to remind them that we appreciate what they are doing for us and that they are missed greatly.
My idea is this: I would like to get friends and family to commit to one of the 26 weeks he is going to be gone. You can include something for a co-worker if you like. With that said, here are the dos and don’ts and suggestions for things to send and not send.
What NOT to send initially:
- Baby wipes
- Playing cards
- Board games
What might be nice:
- Home baked goods
- Chips
- Powdered drink mixes
- New DVD’s, video games, CD’s
- NO Chocolate (It WILL Melt)
Aarons’ favorites:
- Fire Balls, Hot Tamales (hot or sour candies!)
- Tang, Kool-Aid, Gator-aide (all powdered)
- Trail mix, beef jerky
- Peanut butter and Oatmeal raisin cookies (any really)
- Country Music CD’s (He likes the oldies)
- Phone Cards (let me know if you do this and I will get you the purchasing info)
Postal Restrictions:
- Explosives
- Pornographic material
